Fain & Webster once wrote a song entitled, “Love is a many splendored thing.” And in the Bible we see the truth of that song title! Scripture puts love as “front and center” in the list of all the virtues. The apostle Paul said in the Bible that, of faith, hope, and love, “The greatest of these is love.” Jesus said the greatest of the commandments was to “Love the Lord” and “Love your Neighbor.” The Bible even states in 1 John 4:8 that, “God is love.” And, 1 John 4:19 says, “We love because he first loved us,” reminding us that God’s love empowers us to love as well.
