A SPIRITUAL OUTLOOK

Some people have a worldly outlook. They only see things through the lens of the here and now. But people who follow the Lord have a spiritual outlook. They are “filled with the Spirit” meaning that the spirit of Jesus Christ fills and influences every area of their lives. And those who are filled with the Spirit find that a new law operates within them. A law written upon their hearts. The Holy Spirit of God now operates within them, leading them to know and do what is proper and right. And, moment by moment, God leads them to ask, “What is helpful?” and “What is upbuilding?,” in every situation of life. The Bible is the source of this rationale in the book of First Corinthians when it says, “All things are lawful,” but not all things are helpful. “All things are lawful,” but not all things build up. (1 Corinthians 10:23)
