WHAT KIND of PEOPLE are WE?
In light of the imminent coming of the Lord, what kind of persons should we be? According to our focal scripture passage for today, this should characterize our life: First, we should be alert. Do not go asleep in your faith. Realize that through God’s mercy his compassions are new and fresh every morning (Lamentations 3:22). Second we should be sober, meaning not under the influence of anything that would obscure our awareness and readiness for God. The Bible says it this way, “The end of all things is near. Therefore be alert and of sober mind so that you may pray.” (1 Peter 4:7)
