A WORD to WORRIERS
In the Bible, Jesus frequently addressed worriers. You know…those who are constantly lamenting about impending disasters. Those lie awake at night with butterflies in their bellies, concerned about the fate of the world or the condition of a loved one.
But, as an old mountain man once told me, “Worry is like a rocking chair; it may give you something to do, but it won’t get you anywhere.” And those who have faith in God do not worry too much. They just pray, faithfully serve the Lord, and leave the things they don’t know in the hands of Jesus Christ.
In the Bible in the book of Matthew chapter six and verse twenty-five Jesus said it this way, “Therefore I tell you, do not be anxious about your life, what you will eat or what you will drink, nor about your body, what you will put on. Is not life more than food, and the body more than clothing?”
