Jesus once said that people should, “Let their light shine so brightly among men that they may see your good works and glorify God who is in heaven.” (Matthew 5:16). And, the logic of this is best illustrated in the Bible in Luke chapter eight. Jesus said that it is useless to light a lamp and then hide it under a bed or in a clay jar. A light is meant to be seen. It helps others to see. And it guides the way. In the same way believers in Jesus should be lights to help others find their way to life in Jesus Christ.
(Luke 8:16-18) 16 “No one lights a lamp and hides it in a clay jar or puts it under a bed. Instead, they put it on a stand, so that those who come in can see the light. 17 For there is nothing hidden that will not be disclosed, and nothing concealed that will not be known or brought out into the open. 18 Therefore consider carefully how you listen. Whoever has will be given more; whoever does not have, even what they think they have will be taken from them.”
