GOD FIRST!

Spreading the news of the Kingdom of God was so important to Jesus that it even took priority over his earthly family. Now, make no mistake…Jesus loved His family. This is evidenced by the fact that, even while He was on the cross, he made sure his mother Mary was taken care of. But compared to His mission of saving the world, even his mother and brothers had to take the back seat to Him doing the will of God the Father.

(Luke 8:19-21) 19 Now Jesus’ mother and brothers came to see him, but they were not able to get near him because of the crowd. 20 Someone told him, “Your mother and brothers are standing outside, wanting to see you.” 21 He replied, “My mother and brothers are those who hear God’s word and put it into practice.”
