Believers in Christ come in all races, languages, and social classes. Both men and women, rich and poor are welcome to participate in God’s redemptive plan. Followers of Jesus are scattered around the world in every nation. They worship in cathedrals in Europe and mud huts in Africa. They sing all styles of music. Some are reverent and silent as they worship, and still others dance in ecstasy. And in our scripture reading for today, Jesus reminds his disciples of the large tent under which the followers of Jesus dwell.

(Luke 9:49-50) 49 “Master,” said John, “we saw someone driving out demons in your name and we tried to stop him, because he is not one of us.” 50 “Do not stop him,” Jesus said, “for whoever is not against you is for you.”
