GOD’S PROFOUND CHARACTER
In the Bible, the one God reveals himself in three persons: God the Father, God the Son, and God the Holy Spirit. How he does this, we do not know. His character and make-up are beyond understanding. And compounding the mystery is the relationship between Jesus and the Father. The Pharisees used this mystery as an excuse to reject Jesus. But instead, we should realize that his complexity proclaims him as Lord and King. His profound character should be for us, not a reason to reject him, but a motivation to fall at his feet in worship, repentance, and praise.
(John 8:25-27) 25 “Who are you?” they asked. “Just what I have been telling you from the beginning,” Jesus replied. 26 “I have much to say in judgment of you. But he who sent me is trustworthy, and what I have heard from him I tell the world.” 27 They did not understand that he was telling them about his Father.
