MAKEUP for KIDS
Want a great gift for a preteen girl? How about a starter makeup kit! This can be one of those generational gifts that you can add to each year. Start with a makeup case and a few basics at around age twelve, and continue to give a gift of makeup each birthday and Christmas to help her build her kit! But, timing is important as you roll out new and fun makeup and fashions for your teeny-bopper.
For example, nine-year-olds should not be characterized as “pre-teen” yet. They are still kids. After this, you can begin moving eleven and twelve year old girls slowly into the world of make-up and fashion. Remember though, that there is nothing more complicated than a preteen girl. Issues of appearance, growing up, cliques, and maturity cause complexity and sometimes outright insecurity for girls of this age. A loving family can help, as can a few supportive friends. Having a moral center, belief in God, and a commitment to integrity can also add a solid foundation. Gifts for this age group are moving from children’s toys to more mature items. This may be the year to trade in the kid’s bike for a ten-speed. Or to replace the kid’s computer with a real laptop.

Setting Spray. For a preteen you probably do not need setting spray. Unless of course she will be entering a lot of pageants and will need flawless makeup that will last a long time. Because of this we are not recommending any setting sprays in this article.
